Perfect Pattern Parcel March 20 2014, 2 Comments
What a cool idea Jill and Rachel have come up with. A way to support Indie designers and Charity at the same time. Love it!
It made me fee just like:
I also really like the patterns they chose for the very first release.
So, What is Perfect Pattern Parcel? (from Imagine Gnats blog)
Put together two entrepreneurial makers driven by their internal voices and one self-taught hacker with an “if you build it, they will come” mentality, and Perfect Pattern Parcel was born. We are passionate about supporting independent designers in their craft and fostering a community of makers to grow. Our mission is to offer high-quality pdf sewing patterns written by indie designers while supporting charity.
So which pattern did I decide to make from this fun bundle?! Of course I chose the "Summer Concert Tee" by Dixie DIY. It's easy and quick which is all the time I have for me these days. I stuck with Dixie's styling and went with stripes but this quick sew took so little time that I have a few more planned for later that are non-striped. I will say this pattern isn't going to hold your hand as you sew but if you have a little experience and 1 hour then definitely go for it. I picked size 8 and it was a perfect fit. The only alteration I made because I'm a tad short was I trimmed off the back hem by 1" otherwise it was just a little too long. My husband appreciated that. :) If you're feeling charitable and supportive today then hop over to the PPP site and pick up your own pack. It's only available for 1 more day!!!!!!
ps. there's a giveaway!!!! (paid off to read the whole post)
