One year ago I came across this post  and instantly fell in love with everything my eyes laid eyes on.  I loved the girls, the clothes and I especially fell in love with Alexia's eye for just the perfect fabric.  I go into quilters cotton overload sometimes with it's over use in garments and it was refreshing to see a talent such as Lexi using gorgeous garment fabrics. (Don't get me wrong I love a nice quilters cotton just like the rest of you but it's not meant for EVERY garment.) In September of 2013 I see this post and am blown away.  I thought to myself, this girl has some serious talent and I must get to know her and I would love to work with her.  So I went for it and asked if she'd like to work with me on a new pattern and a few months later I'm so pleased and proud to announce the newest Figgy's pattern by Alexia Sotelo.

I was so excited Hayley from Mouse House invited me to be a part of her Nora tour to help introduce her first pattern the Nora Dress and Tunic. There are some amazing designers and bloggers on this tour so be sure to go back and check out their work. Thank you for inviting me along Hayley!!

It's not often I get the chance to create from children's patterns designed by others because it's easy just to grab a Figgy's pattern, but the Nora Dress and Tunic was too cute to pass up.  Plus, Hayley is darling and talented and I love supporting other Indie Designers.

I choose the tunic length top version using one of my favorite fabrics designed by my friend Violet. The fabric is from her line "Waterfront Park" and it's not just cool, it's a piece of Portland (Portland bridges). Ofelia is very "Portland" and loves pink so I thought the fabric and little touch of pink would be perfect and I think it's a fabulous combination! I lined the tunic using an old white sheet that is super soft.  I think it's important to choose soft fabrics to lie against little's skin.  This tunic is a gift for my niece Ofelia for Christmas so I wasn't able to get a photo of her in the tunic but after measuring the finished garment and comparing it to her measurements I know it will be a perfect fit!  No body tell….shhhh.  :)

The pattern was easy to follow and the instructions were very well written.  I also love all the options that come with the design!

I hope you like it as much as I know Ofelia will!
