Sewn Hats!

I’m very excited to share with you “Sewn Hats” by author/designer Carla Hegeman Crim !   I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Carla at the Spring Quilt Market in 2010 and she is as sweet as her pattern line.  When Carla asked if I would like to contribute a hat patterns to a new book about hats I jumped on board.  I love hats.  Before I had the boys I wore a hat every Sunday and any other day I could find an excuse to wear one. When the boys were young they always pulled at my hats and wanted to wear them but now that they are grown I’m ready to start sewing!

You’ll find 35 different hat patterns in this book.  They are organized by weather, vintage, stepping out, working, playing and just having fun.  The size range is Newborn to a size X-large woman/man.

The book is full of gorgeous photos, wonderful illustrations & a handy guide to help you through any hat.  You’ll find my hat pattern on page 69 the “Turn It Up” hat.  Simple, quick and fun to make.

Not only is this a great book and you should run out and pick yourself up a copy but if you leave a comment here on the blog today you’ll get the chance to win a copy of the book and a “Turn It Up” hat made by me just for you!  Thank you so much Carla for asking me to be a contributor in your book.  I’m so happy for you and all your success!

I’ve been anxiously waiting for the library in town to get this book (lost my job recently so have no funds for sewing books at the moment)…
Am anxious to try that teeny hat in photo 146, but I could use a knit fabric hat like yours for this fall!
